As American, we all loooooOoove our comfort!
We get to stay in warm houses when it's cold outside and in cool houses when it's hot outside. We each get our own bed, get pretty much any kind of food we want, get to drive to the places we need to go and the list goes on. We will do just about anything to avoid pain or discomfort.
BUT
Is this the life Jesus has called us to live? Did he say "Go and make disciples as long as you are comfortable."? If I live so that I am concerned with bringing the most comfort to my life, then how am I ever going to focus on others? Even more so, how am I ever going to consider God's plan for my life, instead of my own plans? A lot of you may not realize this, but I think most of our plans, choices, and actions are focused solely on our comfort.
I bring this up because I recently got a new job where I'm becoming very comfortable, quickly. Although this is a great blessing and gift from God, I want to make sure I don't become too comfortable and neglect God's bigger plans for my life. I want to go out into the world and serve God globally, but I can't do that if I stay in my comfort bubble here at work.
Just keep this in mind for your life. Are you too comfortable? Do you need to venture out and rely on God more for the plans of your life?
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
No Home Groups until March 31st!!! Spring Break :)
We are still accepting Haiti applications in March! Don't pass up this opportunity that God could be using to push you out of your comfort zone. Pray about it too!
Pleas pray for those in Japan right now. Many people have lost their lives to this huge natural disaster. Sacrifice an hour of your day or fast for those who are dealing with this sudden catastrophe.
I love you all, my dear High School students!!! I'm praying for you!
